Tracking Books on Amazon

Edited

Altmetric collects links to Amazon scholarly books when they are shared across attention sources. When someone shares a link to an Amazon book (e.g. on Bluesky), Altmetric captures the ISBN from the URL and, if the book is already in the Altmetric database or registered with CrossRef, the mention is added to the book’s Altmetric Details Page.

This helps publishers gain a fuller picture of their books' impact, especially as many readers and reviewers link to Amazon instead of the publisher platforms.

Mentions from Amazon links appear on Altmetric Details Pages like any other source.

Supported Domains & Platforms

  • Amazon Domains: Includes .com, .co.uk, .ca, .in, .de, and more (excluding Kindle-only URLs).

  • Attention Sources that support Amazon tracking: Twitter, Facebook, blogs, news, YouTube, policy documents and guidelines.
