If you already have an Altmetric account, you can login as follows:

2. Enter your organization/company email address and the password that you set when registering for your Altmetric account. You can reset your password if you have forgotten it.

Login to Altmetric Explorer as a new user

If you don't already have an Altmetric account, you can view a read-only version of Altmetric Explorer or create an account by following the steps below:

1. Go to: https://www.altmetricexplorer.com

2. If your institution has set up IP-based access to the Explorer, you will automatically see a read-only version of the database. We recommend creating an Altmetric Explorer account so that you can access additional functionality, such as the ability to save searches, set up Shareable Reports, set up email reports, and more.

3. If you do not automatically see a read-only version of the Explorer, you can sign up for a new account via your unique institutional invite link, which is available on the login page. Alternatively, you can obtain an invite link from your organization's site administrator. If you're not sure who that is, contact us at support@altmetric.com and we can help.

Change your password

You can change your Altmetric Explorer password in Account Settings.

Please note that if you are using institutional single sign-on as your method for logging into the Altmetric Explorer (e.g., via Shibboleth), you will not be able to change your Altmetric Explorer password.

How do I know if my organization has access to Altmetric Explorer?

Not sure if your organization is a subscriber? Typically, subscribing institutions allow IP-based access to the Altmetric Explorer, as long as you are accessing the platform from the organization's office or campus. If you go to http://www.altmetricexplorer.com, you will be able to see whether or not you get re-directed to your organization's Altmetric Explorer instance. If you are still not sure if you have access, please email us at support@altmetric.com.

If you belong to an academic institution, try searching your Library Catalogue for "Altmetric Explorer for Institutions". Alternatively, you can contact your librarian or email us at support@altmetric.com.
