Here at Altmetric, we’re always looking for ways to improve the service we provide to our customers and over recent months, our infrastructure team has been working hard to migrate our infrastructure onto a new platform which we expect will provide us and our users with better reliability and more opportunities to innovate.

Part of the work that will make this all possible involves us decommissioning the existing IP address ranges that identify the servers running the Altmetric applications that collect data from the Internet and switch over to the new IP addresses allocated by our platform provider.

If your organization is allowing us to access your website/data based on our IP addresses, for example, to allow us to track content or harvest a repository to populate your Explorer instance - it is essential that you allow our new IP addresses to do the same in order to avoid any interruption to your service. 

The planned go-live date for the new IP addresses is the 1st of February 2023 but we’ll be reaching out to confirm when the old deprecated IP addresses are no longer required so that you can remove them from your allow-list and firewalls for security purposes.
